An SDI platform open to the public for geospatial data sharing to enable data discovery for research and other use-cases.
Finding data for geospatial analysis in Africa is very difficult especially during student research. Data that exist on individuals computers and not shared eventually gets outdated in the long run. Sharing such datasets could help in the updating process by other individuals who need it for their research whilst attributing the original data provider.
I led the establishment of a Geospatial Data Infrastructure using the open source Python Geonode system on a Linux Server to bridge the data sharing gap. It allows anyone to contribute their data by uploading, and also download existing data from the platform.
